KR Wolfe was privileged to serve as the key subcontractor to upgrade the lighting technology inside eight operating rooms at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP). The project launched on October 10, 2019, and is expected to be completed by October 27, 2019.
Prior to work commencing, KR Wolfe personnel attended safety orientations and made preparations to provide all the required personal protection equipment (PPE). Our team of three expert technicians worked closely with the CHOP facility project manager at every phase of the installation.
According to KR Wolfe CEO, Rachel Wolfe,
“The project involved the removal of outdated surgical lighting and installation of state of the art lighting with an in-light camera. Working onsite at any Children’s Hospital is always an experience that’s close to our hearts, and we view it as an opportunity to help elevate the level of care for kids with serious illnesses and injuries while minimizing disruption to sensitive hospital operations.”
Once the project is complete, CHOP will have eight ORs newly outfitted with the most advanced lighting and in-light camera capabilities to provide care to CHOP patients. These lighting installations will help surgeons perform procedures at a higher standard, speeding recovery times for these precious patients and allowing them to return to spending quality time with their families.
