Goal
Remove and install 4,000 liquid dispensing units across five healthcare facilities within the Methodist University system.
CLIENT
Medline Industries
COMPLETION DATE
16 days, August 2025

PROJECT INFORMATION

  • Remove existing liquid soap dispensers
  • Install 4,000 new units within 5 locations across the Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare system, including Methodist Germantown, Methodist University, Methodist South, Methodist North, and Methodist Le Bonheur Children's Hospitals

  • Averaged 250 units installed per day

  • Enhance hygiene protocols across the institution, ensuring safe, reliable access to hand sanitizing stations throughout the campus

CHALLENGES

  • Logistical issues due to expansive layout of facilities
  • Requested use of screwless mirror plates caused dispensers to detach from walls, creating safety risks and reducing the overall reliability of the installation
  • Limited number of technicians allowed to be onsite
  • Original dispensers had to be retrofitted with old backplates, which required intensive cleaning to remove the old adhesive, a task that significantly added time to the installation process.
  • Weren’t enough temporary dispensers available while the mirror plates were curing, creating delays in the operational functionality of the dispensers.

Project Results

KR Wolfe streamlined the equipment installation process, delivering improved workflows, minimized delays, and a project completed on time and within budget—making the equipment and technology of tomorrow work today.

Optimized Supply Movement
To streamline supply movement, KR Wolfe developed a systematic cart-loading process and assigned a dedicated runner to transport materials between buildings. This kept equipment installation teams focused on their work, boosting productivity and minimizing delays.
Refined the Cleaning Process

To reduce time spent on preparation, the team identified the most effective cleaners and tools for removing adhesives from the old dispensers. By refining the process, they cut cleaning time per backplate to just 12 minutes, significantly improving efficiency.

Strengthened Mounting Methods

When mirror plates proved unreliable, the team quickly pivoted to stronger mounting methods using proper screw fittings. New installation guidelines were implemented to ensure long-term safety and reliability across all dispensers.

Secured Critical Supplies
KR Wolfe expedited the supply chain and secured critical temporary, standalone hand sanitizers, ensuring all facilities remained fully operational throughout the project, even as installations were underway.
