Building technology-forward environments to secure and protect lives is the core of KR Wolfe’s mission. When Sharp HealthCare San Diego selected a firm to complete a major renovation of a medical facility located in Spring Valley, California, the “Wolfe Pack” delivered a turnkey solution.
Sharp’s Facilities Management & Development division invited three contractors to submit proposals for the design and build-out of its Spring Valley medical office complex. KR Wolfe won the contract by proposing the shortest schedule, lowest costs, and a project strategy that put safety and teamwork first.
According to KR Wolfe president, Rachel Wolfe, “The purpose of the renovation was to upgrade an existing space into a new state-of-the-art SharpCare facility. To make the process smooth and efficient, KR Wolfe obtained all the required permits from the County, executed the majority of demolition after hours while maintaining infection control to minimize disruption to active tenants in the building, and committed to a fast-track construction schedule.”
The unoccupied Sharp facility was outdated and required extensive demolition, relocation of some existing interior walls, new flooring, paint, casework, plumbing, electrical work, and adding in fire sprinklers. The final stages of the project entailed the installation and integration of new state-of-the-art medical equipment and lighting.
The fully renovated SharpCare facility now encompasses 3,500 square feet of modern technology. The new space includes eight exam rooms, one procedure room, two lobbies with reception areas, three physician-medical assistant workrooms, one utility room, one phlebotomy room, two storage rooms, one communication room, and a Site Supervisor’s office.
